Dutch Apple Pie

Dutch Apple Pie

by Apple Pie Chef

Dutch apple pie is a great variation on the traditional pie that is both delicious and nutritious, though pretty heavy. This pie is heavier than a normal pie because of the extra cream, which also makes it taste SO much better. This pie is not recommended for someone of a low carb diet, but it’s worth the extra cream, trust me! Enjoy this rich and delicious desert!

Ingredients

  • 10 inch deep pie crust

  • 5 apples
  • 1/4 of a cup of whipping cream
  • 3/4 of a cup of brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp of all purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp of cold butter
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon

Directions

  1. Fit crust into pan, peel and cut apples into 6 pieces each.
  2. Arrange apples in a patter fit into the pan.
  3. Use half the cream to drizzle over the pie.
  4. Mix sugar, flour and butter until crumbly.

  5. Pour sugar, flour and butter over apples then dust with cinnamon.
  6. Bake at 450 degrees F for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 350 and bake for another 30-35 minutes.
  7. Let cool for about an hour.

Dutch apple pie is a delicacy in Europe and is one of the tastiest apple pies out there. It is one of our highest rated pies and we recommend it for everyone.
