Classic Apple Raisin Pie

This pie is a great traditional American recipe passed down since the pilgrims arrived.  It has everything you love about Classic Apple Pie, but with raisins and a light sugar mixture thrown in. This is a great kids recipe and takes almost no time to make. It also probably doesn’t require any grocery shopping to make, you probably have everything you need in you own kitchen pantry! The raisins add an extra unique taste that makes simply delicious.

Ingredients:

  • one-third of a cup of packed brown sugar
  • one-third of a cup of sugar that is white
  • one tablespoon of flour
  • one teaspoon of lemon juice
  • one-third of a teaspoon of cinnamon that is ground
  • seven and a half cups of peeled, sliced and cored apples
  • one cup of raisins
  • one egg
  • one nine inch double crust pie

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Mix both sugars with the lemon and cinnamon.
  3. Add in the apples and raisins
  4. Pour the mixture into the pie.
  5. Put the top on the pie and seals it with slits cut into the top.
  6. Brush the top with whisked egg.
  7. Bake for about forty minutes and cool for about half an hour.
